EnviroLux Energy Systems' custom Made-in-USA LED luminaires light the way for NASA's historic Artemis II mission — the first crewed lunar flight in over 50 years.
More than half a century after humans last traveled to the moon, NASA is preparing to send astronauts back into deep space — and EnviroLux Energy Systems will be there to light the way.
The Artemis II mission, scheduled to launch Wednesday, April 1, 2026, will be another night launch illuminated with custom-designed, Made-in-USA LED luminaires manufactured by EnviroLux Energy Systems. The mission will carry four astronauts on a 10-day journey around the moon and back to Earth — marking the first crewed mission beyond low-Earth orbit since NASA's Apollo 17 in 1972.
In 2020, EnviroLux was commissioned to design and manufacture a state-of-the-art LED lighting system for the new Artemis launch pad at Kennedy Space Center. The spacecraft towers an impressive 322 feet tall, and the EnviroLux lighting design needed to provide flawless illumination for historic launches that would be captured on film for generations to enjoy on channels like Discovery and History.
EnviroLux rose to the occasion, engineering and producing over 300 custom LED luminaires to illuminate the launch pad and the Artemis rocket itself. Remarkably, not a single EnviroLux LED luminaire in proximity to the Launch Pad after launch had failed — underscoring the exceptional quality and durability of EnviroLux Made-in-USA LED lighting products.
