Amber LED Lighting
In an attempt to minimize environmental impacts on aquatic life, a lot of oceanfront municipalities and businesses are electing to use amber LED lighting rather than white or even blue light.
This is mostly due to the activities of sea turtles. Sea turtles lay eggs on beaches, and when those eggs hatch, the hatchlings use the light of the moon to find the sea.
However, white and blue light is very similar to the moon, so beachfront lighting can confuse and ultimately kill these baby sea turtles.
